UPDATE: It seems all is not as clear as the original post! The car kit has been pulled from the Apple store for some unknown reason and TomTom are now stating the mount costs £99 – on it’s own! More info will be posted as we get it!
UPDATE: It appears the mount is £99 on its own. Wow. TomTom clarified the specification last night confirming that the price for the mount does not include the software.

Engadget have updated this saying it DOESN’T include the software – just the mount.
£100 for JUST the mount! Epic fail!

I must confess I’m confused right now! When I posted the original article, Apple were very clear that you got the software and the mount for £99. TomTom, on the other hand, now state they’re sold separately! While I agree the best part of £100 is way too much for a mount, I’m simply astonished this kind of situation has occurred! What have the marketing department been doing?

So we are looking at £160 for tom tom and the cradle. Think I will stick to a stand alone sat-nav for now the price is just too steep for what you get. I would have bought this if the dock price included the UK maps.

apple removed it from the itunes and apple store due to the mistake it made saying the software was included , people who did buy it now get an email from apple to say there is no software and you can cancel your order , in one way apple are trying to get out of its mistake , i think apple should give the software away to those who did order the houder. it is apples fault so they should make it good
