3gsorangeWell, it’s official, and it’s not just the iPhone 3G ! Orange will be bringing the iPhone 3G and 3GS to UK customers later this year. Orange, which already has the largest 3G network, has setup a registration site for you to get your name down for one.

More information upcoming on this, but this is official from Orange UK.

The addition of the iPhone on Orange increases the availability of the handset and will no doubt mean an increase in sales. o2 have had the UK exclusive for some time and it appears that they will continue to sell the device alongside Orange.

Update – We’re hearing on the grapevine from Orange that “it’ll be this year….”, so you can expect the handset before Christmas!

You can just tell that when Orange gets it’s hands on it, O2’s prices will seem cheap.

  2. morganb Says:

I wonder if O2 will reduce their rates….. fingers crossed!

  3. Marqnet Says:

Maybe o2 will get the unlock codes for the iPhone now to allow you to take your iPhone with you when you change networks. Mmmm I won’t hold my horses though

  4. Gabriel Says:

Marqnet, I was wondering exactly the same. I have an iPhone hanging around from an O2 subscriber who doesn’t want it (!) and was hoping to use it on Orange. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do that.

Don’t buy a pay as you go Iphone from Orange.
There is an issue with them migrating your existing number to the Iphone.
We have contacted Orange upto 7 times so far and have now had seven different explanations of what the issue is.

Customer service is the worst I have encountered in recent times.

Will be sending the Orange Iphone back and going to see O2
