I agree with you comments but the iPad is a supplemental device and it's actually more relevant to non-technical people dude to it's simplicity. Also, a USB adapter is available for the iPad.

Well, another day proving all the rumours on the 'net about the Apple Event were complete and utter boll**ks. Time leading up to these events trigger a mass of blog entries and news sites on what we should expect at these events. Some even go far as to say they've had "leaked information" which all turn out to be completely untrue.

Apple just don't leak anything. The only true news we saw was "the tablet" which is appears to be an overgrown iPod Touch. It looks great with the bigger screen and more managable for those documents or watching videos, but the most crappy part of it is is still lacking the same annoying parts iPhone and Touch users have been wishing for from Apple for some time now and this recent event has left those users still waiting and wanting.

OS 4.0 didn't show itself, nor any news about any update at all, so all those re-submitting their "10 things we'd like to see from Apple.." posts can hibernate for the next few months until the next event. The SDK would be out before any OS update so Developers can ensure compatibility with their already released Apps, so anyone expecting a firmware update on the day were just kidding themselves.

Don't get me wrong, the iPad looks great and some Applications really shine on there, but no USB, no multi-tasking? Just how are users supposed to use it for presentations, or edit and print those documents? Not every office has WiFi printers or open WANs that enable sharing from any network device. I realise Apple are aiming an innovation but to make it popular it needs to be compatible with existing technlogy. Not everyone has bottomless pockets.

It can play videos, but again you can only get them onto the iPad by purchasing and downloading them from iTunes. Hardly useful is it. Wait, no if you've got another non-Apple old hat PC, laptop or netbook, you can share your existing videos via WiFi. Hmmm. Doesn't that defeat the purpose though? I mean to get the best use of your iPad, you have a dependency on another device to get all your files across.

I'm not disappointed with Apple for the lack of iPhone/Touch updates or enhancements. I'm more p****d off with all the bullsh** stories on the Web that fuel the speculation and rumours, get our hopes up that our devices will be drastically improved only to feel cheated when they don't arrive. We all know they're rumours and most have not an ounce of truth in them, but something inside us hopes they turn out to be true and just disappoint when they're not.

I've got the barcode app and that's linked up to a few stores including amazon. You take a pic of the bar code on a product and then the app searches for it. You can compare prices etc and even then click through to buy !

Well I got it on my phone but visiting the website using Safari and then pushing the plus ( + ) button on the bottom of the screen and adding it to my home screen. Im running version 3.0 of the apple firmware, I havent upgraded to the latest firmware because of apparent problems with it (after reading up on the internet at various forums)

If you are seeing all the channels but when you try to look at any of them and you get that error message I would understand that your firmware would need updating.

What version of firmware is your device on?

You can find this out by going to SETTINGS, GENERAL and then ABOUT and scroll down to VERSION (mines 3.0.1)

Hope this helps

Have used CoPilot for 4 months - and have not got lost once. But then, if it tells me to turn left, I turn left. If that is tricky for you, then please don't buy TomTom - buy a set of driving lessons :D

Yeah thats what I thought. I guess the more that are sold then the price will start to come down but I agree, the pricing structure is a bit steep for what you get. Considering its a bit of a gimmick.

Don't buy a pay as you go Iphone from Orange.
There is an issue with them migrating your existing number to the Iphone.
We have contacted Orange upto 7 times so far and have now had seven different explanations of what the issue is.

Customer service is the worst I have encountered in recent times.

Will be sending the Orange Iphone back and going to see O2
